

Advocating for improved working conditions for farm workers and their families in terms of improved wages, benefits and access to services by direct and indirect advocacy at public agencies, legislative representatives and private industry. Bringing the issues facing farm workers and their families as a core issue for our community. Opening the Loli Torres Farm Workers Service Center in Calexico to inform workers of their rights and refer them to services they may need and advice workers on matters of work and social issues. 85% of the farm worker labor cross into the Imperial Valley from Mexicali in the early morning hours searching for a days pay and the Service Center is centrally located among the major pick up points for farm workers as they pertain to where they work and live for a comprehensive understanding of the issues from a first hand basis.

Establishing community forums for the purpose of engaging and educating the community to take a more active role in the environmental issues and concerns that face our community today and tomorrow. Current project consists of organizing residents around the New River.
